My Current Closet Staples

So if you haven’t heard, Seattle is having what the locals are calling a “snowpocalypse” or even “snowmagedden” this weekend. The grocery stores completely ran out of food last night, and the city is preparing to shut down for the weekend. I’m totally content with having a relaxing weekend at home, so I have no complaints! If I change out of my sweats this weekend, it will be some kind of miracle! I’ve lived in some pretty snowy places in my life, so 6-8 inches of snow isn’t exactly my definition of a “snowpocalypse”, but because the city isn’t exactly prepared for that much snow (or really any snow that sticks to the roads), the conditions can get pretty bad over there! It did snow a few days ago, and the main highway going through my little suburb was never even plowed! I guess they just didn’t have the equipment!

Getting back on topic…as I watch the snow fall out my window, I thought I would put together a quick blog post about two of the items I have been wearing the heck out of lately! I’ve been living in these pieces, and they make getting dressed in the morning sooo much easier!

The Downtown Cami

I just bought three of these cami’s, and I cannot believe I didn’t jump on the bandwagon sooner! These are the BEST. They look good with everything you pair them with, and even by themselves (summer, come quicker please). They have a ton of colors, and it isn’t too hard to find them on sale! When I bought them, they were buy one get one 50% off, and that promotion is still going on at the time I am writing this! They also come in petite sizes! I ordered a medium, which is typically the size I would get in a cami! Because their material doesn’t have a lot of stretch, I always size up in camis so my boobs will fit! If you’re new here, my bra size is a 34DDD, so that’s always something I have to take into consideration when shopping. Here are two of the colors I bought, white and shimmering rose gold!

 The Wedgie Jean

I’ve raved about these jeans in instagram posts, on my story, and they even got their own blog post! I just had to mention them again, because I am so obsessed! They really helped me break away from only wearing skinny jeans! I love that they’re a thicker denim, but they aren’t so heavy that they are uncomfortable. They fit tighter in the thigh, and looser at the ankle. This fit is perfect for me. When I’ve tried relaxed, mom/boyfriend jeans before, they are usually too tight in the thigh/booty area. This makes them look extremely weird on me, because the rest of the jean fits fine. Because these are supposed to be tight on your thighs, the fit is so much better! I am usually between a 27 and a 28, and I ordered a 28 in these jeans. Because the denim is thicker, there is not as much stretch, so I wanted to make sure my booty would fit! If you don’t have to worry about squeezing your bum into your jeans, go with your normal size!
