It’s Almost Spring!

Spring is just a few weeks away, thank God! This Winter seems like it has dragged on forever, and I am ready for some serious sunshine and warmth! It’s been gorgeous in Seattle lately, and according to the forecast, that’s going to continue! Next weekend it’s going to hit 50, which isn’t that warm, but I’m excited for anything over the 40s at this point.

One of the reasons I’m excited for Spring is the ability to change up my wardrobe! During the winter I’m stuck in jeans, leggings, and sweats, and that never really changes. Being cold is one of my top 5 most hated things, so if I’m going anywhere, I have to be completely bundled up. Why haven’t I moved somewhere extremely warm yet? I’m not sure, but it gets more tempting with every cold day. At the end of the cold weather, I’m always so tired of wearing the same pants and sweaters, and ready to switch it up! Spring style is probably my favorite of all the seasonal styles.

In Seattle, we don’t go straight to warm sunny weather as soon as Spring hits. We have a decent amount of rain; this is Seattle after all, and some days are warmer than others. So instead of jumping straight into my rompers and sundresses in the Spring, I have to transition my wardrobe slowly. Keep reading if you want to know how I transition my Winter wardrobe to Spring!

Tip 1: Don’t store your sweaters just yet!

My first piece of advice – keep those sweaters out! Say you want to wear a cute new skirt, or a pair of shorts. If you wore them with a t-shirt or tank top, you would freeze! During this transitional period, I pair my winter sweaters with skirts and shorts! They keep me pretty decently warm, and look super cute together! In the photos above, I paired a thick sweater that I wore all Winter with a pink and white gingham skirt. I wore the sweater off the shoulder to make it look a little more “springy” and added Spring accessories with my straw bag, and sandals!

Tip 2: Throw a chunky cardigan over a Spring style dress or romper!

Two of my favorite parts of Spring style are rompers and dresses. They’re easy to wear, and so so cute. When I say spring style dresses or rompers, I’m referring to minidresses, bright colors, and allll the floral prints! If you can’t wait to start wearing your rompers and dresses, you can easily pair them with a big, chunky cardigan. Think of one that will keep you nice and warm while you’re wearing your cute floral romper underneath! Here is an example of a romper and cardigan that would look so cute together, AND keep you warm:

You can up the Spring vibes of your outfit by wearing a pair of sandals!

Tip 3: Break out the white jeans!

To me, white jeans are the epitome of Spring style. They’re light, bright, and look great when you pair them with a soft floral, or pastel! If you follow me on instagram, you’ve seen that I’ve already gotten quite a few wears out of my white jeans! I actually wrote a whole post about my new favorite white jeans, so if you’re looking for a new pair, check that out here! During the Winter to Spring transition, I love to pair my white jeans with sweaters, or a cami and a cardigan! I usually pick lighter, pastel colors to make my outfit look even more like Spring! I also love wearing boots with my white jeans. I have a favorite pair of white booties that I’m wearing with my white jeans 9/10 times! This way you can get a little more use out of your boots during this transitional phase!

Good luck!
